Just a few!

As interesting as shipping a car can be, it still requires attention to the paperwork.

Here are a few papers needed and why:

  • Dock Receipt

If the shipment's destination is a port, the driver will need to have a dock receipt so the port can accept the vehicle.

  • Bill of Lading (BOL)

This document serves as the contract between the customer and the carrier. It is used to record the cargo, its destination, delivery time, and the name(s) of the shipper(s) and carrier(s). The second purpose is to note the car's condition for reference, just in case something happens during the transit, so the carrier can reimburse our client. It serves as proof of damages.

  • Original Title and Registration

The title or the pink slip is proof of the vehicle's registration, ownership, and roadworthiness. This is important for the carriers to ensure the customer legally owns the transported vehicle.

  • Gate Pass

If the vehicle is coming from a port or an auction, the carrier needs the gate pass to pick the vehicle up from the location. If the gate pass is unavailable, the customer should send us the vehicle's buyer number, lot number, member number, and Vin number.

  • Kindest Regards
